Once the trial period ends, you can buy a Day Pass from the eShop for £1.79 to play all the available sports for a 24-hour period. Or, you can buy permanent access to individual sports for £8.99 each.
You can see the game in action in the video below, from the 18 minute mark.
Meanwhile, Nintendo has announced a 31-day trial version of Wii Fit U.
From 1st November 2013 you can download a free trial version of the game from the Nintendo eShop. You will of course need a balance board and a Wii U to play.
There are 77 different activities and 19 new training activities, some of which make use of the Wii U GamePad controller, and some that combine the Wii Balance Board and the Wii U GamePad.
The trial, which works for 31 days from the day it's first played, will be available between 1st November and 31st January 2014.
If you want to keep playing after the trial has expired, you can unlock the time restriction by synching a Fit Meter to the game. The Fit Meter is sold separately, and will be available from 1st November.
The Fit Meter records the number of steps you've taken and takes into account the intensity of those steps. So, it can tell whether you're running or walking. It also measures altitude, so you get credit for climbing stairs or walking uphill. You get a detailed calculation of the number of calories you've burned, among other data. This is transferred wirelessly to Wii Fit U via the Wii U GamePad.
The game proper launches on 6th December as a packaged game in two sets: one includes the game disc and Fit Meter, the other includes the game disc, Fit Meter and Wii Balance Board. There will also be a paid download version available from the eShop from 1st February 2014.

Wii Sports Resort (Wii スポーツ リゾート, Wii Supōtsu Rizōto) is a sports video game developed and published by Nintendo for the Wii video game console, and is the successor to Wii Sports. It is one of the first titles to require the Wii MotionPlus accessory, which is bundled with the game. While the game was originally released only as a stand-alone title, as of 2009 the game is bundled with newer Wii consoles, along with Wii Sports.
Wii Sports Free Download
Wii Sports Resort is a collection of twelve sports games, which includes enhanced games from Wii Sports along with completely new selections, designed to take advantage of the motion sensing capabilities of the Wii Remote, Wii MotionPlus, and Nunchuk. Like Wii Sports, players mimic the actions performed in real life sports, but they are played with greater accuracy thanks to the precision of the Wii MotionPlus.

Emulation Information
Bowling Controls
Manual bowling controls are inaccurate in emulated Bluetooth with current Dolphin builds. During a swing in manual mode, the timing of the ball's release is different compared to the timing on the Wii. It may be possible to adjust to the different timings, but it makes the game very difficult to play. Automatic bowling controls are unaffected. See issue 5352. Bluetooth Passthrough will resolve this issue overall.
Mii Faces Disappearing
Mii faces can disappear if EFB Copies to Texture Only is on and graphics settings are adjusted.
Problems
Controllers Disconnect
Wii Remotes randomly disconnect if 'Enable Speaker Data' is on. Disable it to correct the problem.Bluetooth Passthrough with a decent adapter does not have this issue.
Unable To Detect Wii Motion Plus
Wii Motion plus may not be detected when using the Toshiba Bluetooth Stack or the Mayflash DolphinBar. To resolve this problem you may have to have a Wii Nunchuck inserted into the remote as the game is being booted. Bluetooth Passthrough will resolve this issue overall.
Pixelated Box
With EFB Copies to Texture Only disabled, a pixelated box of varying sizes will appear during some games. Use EFB Copies to Texture Only to remove the pixelated box, however a black line may appear on top of where the box would be. This seems to be fixed since at least 5.0-10516.
Wii MotionPlus
This title requires the Wii MotionPlus add-on. Dolphin prior to 5.0-10056 was not capable of emulating the Wii MotionPlus; the only way to play this game was to use a real, physical Wii Remote with Wii MotionPlus add-on or a Wii Remote Plus controller. See issue 4282. Resolved with Wii MotionPlus emulation implemented in 5.0-10056 and later.
Enhancements
Banding/Pixelated Shading at IR>1
Shading will look weird when playing with an IR>1, almost as if it's pixelated. Turn on 'Force Texture Filtering' to resolve it.
Configuration
Only configuration options for the best compatibility where they deviate from defaults are listed.
Graphics
Config | Setting | Notes |
---|---|---|
Force Texture Filtering | On | Fixes shading for IR>1 |

Testing
This title has been tested on the environments listed below:
Test Entries | |||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Revision | OS Version | CPU | GPU | Result | Tester |
r7332 | Windows 7 | Intel Core i5-750 | AMD Radeon HD 6950 | Good 50-60FPS | |
3.0-419 | Windows 7 | Intel Core i5-2500K | AMD Radeon HD 6870 | Good 60FPS 1080p 2.0 native | REALIZE |
4.0-1349 | Windows 8 | AMD FX 6300 @ 4.3GHz | AMD Radeon HD 6450 | Errors in the Mii's faces shown often. Some minor slowdowns. Playable. Motion Plus need to calibrate often. | Faefdsedf |
5.0 | Windows 10 | Intel Core i7-4770k @ 4GHz | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 | Runs perfect @ 4k / Motion Plus needs to be calibrated every once and a while | yuGmooDehT |
5.0-6203 | Windows 10 | Intel Core i7-6700K @ 4GHz | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 | Playable. With Dual Core, Mii faces are disappearing in some (oftenly results, win, level) screens. Needs 'Force Texture Filtering' for banding/pixelated shading problems on Mii characters. Recommended a real Wii Remote Plus (or Wii Remote with Motion Plus accessory) to play. Tested with D3D11, 3x IR, DSP LLE. | SuperSonic |
5.0-10529 | Windows 10 | Intel Core i5-4670K @ 4.3GHz | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 | Perfect with 60FPS and no graphical issues with Force texture filtering at higher IR. Using Dual Core, DX12, 3x IR, 4xSSAA and EFB to texture only. Didn't have Mii face issue, though they would dissapear when changing graphics settings. Also couldn't reproduce pixelated box issue. WiiMotion+ emulation is ok in most cases but a few games are very hard to play. Performance can be increased by enabling 'ignore format changes', to fix the blue box due to this can, enable 'disable mist'. | Miksel12 |
